ReImagine!

Spirit of the creator,
we surrender
to the reign of love,
in every currency of being:
Body, mind, feelings, time
in purpose, possessions and belonging
Make us alive to the power
that is making all things new

A PRAYER FOR SIMPLICITY
The universe produces all that is needed:
Food and Fabrics,
Water and Wood,
Bricks and Clay,
Sunshine and Rain.
The Maker brings these to us as a gift each day
—knowing that we are happiest
when we live close to the soil
aware of our source
consciously embracing all things with thanks.
The secret is that we are fabulously wealthy
Living like Kings and Queens
In a garden of leisure and luxury.
What we have is enough… and more
If we lack anything,  it is the simple pleasure
To enjoy what we already possess
Yet so often we find ourselves
chasing after joyless schemes and business
denying our inheritance
wanting what can only make us tired, choked and desperate.
Today, let us find goodness
In the small things
Tasting the abundance you have lavished on us
With eager open hands
Giving and receiving
Trusting and Completing
the circle that began
With the gift of life

A prayer for awakening creativity:
Created to be creative
we enact our destiny
embracing the energy of the Spirit
to risk making beauty
with our whole lives.

Abba, Together We Groan
You said the reign of love
is like a seed planted deep within
growing like a virus
bringing greater wholeness
making all things new again
But from where we stand
all we can see
is the dirt where your promises lay buried:
We see dark clouds approaching,
land that is scarred by greed,
the wounds and suffering
of women, men and children aching
for a kingdom coming
that can’t come soon enough
                        Abba, together we groan
We are the soil where your promises lay hidden
We are the sons and daughters of creation
Together we grown in frustration
until the green shoots and ripe fruits of your kingdom
become as real on earth
as they are in heaven
                        Abba, together we groan
Awaken our imaginations
for the reign of love that is more real
than the fears and doubts we feel
Give us courage to name and enjoy
all the gifts the earth reveals.
Lead us to places where our hands and our words
can sooth and heal
                        Abba, together we groan
We wait for sunlight
We pray for rain
We lie awake in the night
with growing pains.
Adonai, finish the work you began
with the first coming of the chosen one.
Adonai, finish the work you began
before the creation of our world
                        Abba, together we groan

ABOLITION PRAYER
Make me an agent of your healing and justice
To weep with those who suffer
To speak for my sisters and brothers
whose voices cannot be heard
I join the struggle
of love’s triumph over greed
Spending myself for the captive
Praying that more liberators will be sent
until every slave is free.
